Description of Service

FacultyLens is a SaaS platform designed to help academic departments and institutions manage, analyze, and optimize faculty workload across teaching, research, and service dimensions. Our services include workload calculations, analytics dashboards, AI-powered reporting, and strategic planning tools.

Account Registration

To use FacultyLens, you must:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Be affiliated with an academic institution or department
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service
• Scrape, copy, or misuse our platform's data or intellectual property
• Resell or redistribute access to the service without authorization
• Use the service to harass, abuse, or harm others

Subscription and Payment

FacultyLens offers subscription-based pricing with different tiers (Free Trial, Essential, Professional, Enterprise). By subscribing:

• You agree to pay all applicable fees for your selected subscription tier
• Subscription fees are billed monthly or annually as selected
• Payment is processed through our third-party payment processor (Stripe)
• You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis
• Faculty limits apply based on your subscription tier
• Fees are non-refundable except as required by law

Cancellation and Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms of Service
• Your payment method fails or you fail to pay fees
• We are required to do so by law
• We discontinue the service

Data Ownership and License

You retain ownership of all data you input into FacultyLens (faculty records, workload data, etc.). By using our service, you grant us a limited license to:

• Store, process, and display your data to provide our services
• Use your data to generate analytics, reports, and AI-powered narratives
• Create anonymized, aggregated statistics for service improvement

We will not sell or share your data except as described in our Privacy Policy.

Intellectual Property

FacultyLens and all related trademarks, logos, software, documentation, and content are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

AI-Generated Content

FacultyLens uses AI technology to generate workload narratives, reports, and suggestions. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before use.

Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues. We are not liable for any disruption or loss resulting from service unavailability.

Disclaimer of Warranties

FacultyLens is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the service will meet your requirements or be error-free.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FacultyLens and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FacultyLens and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
